Laser hair removal is a cosmetic procedure that uses concentrated beams of light to remove unwanted hair by targeting the melanin in hair follicles.
At Everskin Laser Salon, we work with Diode Laser and IPL.
- Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds at least 2 weeks before your treatment.
- Shave the treated area.
- Stop using Accutane within 6 months before any procedures.
- Do not take any photosensitizing medications at least 2 weeks before.
- Avoid any irritant chemicals, AHAs, BHAs, retinol, and other skincare active ingredients for 1 or 2 weeks before the scheduled treatment.
- Protect your skin from direct sunlight: Use broad-spectrum sunscreen SPF 50.
- No tanning, pool, sauna, hot showers and baths, active exercises and humid environment 24 hours after the procedure.
- Do not pluck or wax hair.
- Moisturize with aloe vera and clean skin with gentle soap/cleanser.
- Some redness and swelling are normal reactions.
- Avoid irritants (AHAs, BHA, retinol, other acids) until redness or swelling resolves.
Most people require a series of 6 to 8 treatments spaced approximately 4 to 8 weeks apart to achieve significant hair reduction. After the initial series of treatments, maintenance sessions may be needed periodically to target any remaining hair or new hair growth.
No, you cannot!
No waxing, plucking, shaving creams or electrolysis before laser hair removal. If you did one of these procedures, please wait at least 4-6 weeks before you schedule a laser hair removal session.
Not all types of lasers are a good choice for individuals with dark skin tones.
However, at Everskin Laser Salon, we use a Diode laser that is safe and effective for all skin types!
Laser Hair Removal is a safe and effective method for permanent hair reduction. However, there are possible side effects such as skin irritation, redness, swelling, or changes in skin pigmentation.
Laser tattoo removal works by using high-intensity light pulses to break down the pigments in the tattoo ink, which are then gradually absorbed and eliminated by the body's natural processes.
Laser tattoo removal can be uncomfortable, with sensations often described as similar to getting a tattoo, but pain levels vary depending on individual tolerance and the location of the tattoo. Numbing creams can help minimize discomfort during the procedure.
Laser tattoo removal is generally considered safe and effective. However, like any medical procedure, there are some potential risks and side effects to be aware of:
- Pigmentation changes: hypopigmentation or hyperpigmentation
- Redness and swelling
- Blistering and crusting
- Scarring
- Pain and discomfort
- Allergic reactions
- Infections
It is essential to follow all post-care instructions to minimize any potential complications.
Pre-care instructions:
- Avoid direct sun, tanning beds and products in areas to be treated for 4 weeks before your appointment.
- Shave the area if needed.
- Avoid any chemical irritants, AHAs, BHA and retinoids on the treatment day.
Post-care instructions:
- Keep the treated area clean with gentle wash and lukewarm water.
- Pat dry the area with a clean towel.
- Apply an antibiotic ointment or topical cream such as Polysporin.
- Protect the treated areas from the sun with broad-spectrum sunscreen and clothes.
- Avoid saunas, pools, humid environment, active exercise, scratching and picking the treated area.
- Moisturize skin with gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer.
Laser tattoo removal is generally not recommended during pregnancy due to potential risks to the developing fetus. The effects of laser treatment on pregnancy are not well studied, and there is a theoretical risk of harm to the baby. For the safety of both mother and baby, we recommend waiting until after pregnancy and breastfeeding to undergo laser tattoo removal.
Pregnancy or breastfeeding, recent tan, active skin infections and diseases, cancer, heart condition, asthma, recent cosmetic procedures, history of keloid scarring, diabetes.
The hardest colours to remove are white, light blue, orange, yellow, and neon colours.
Other colours are more likely to be removed.
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that involves using a device with fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This stimulates the body's natural healing process, promoting collagen and elastin production, which improves skin texture, tone, and firmness.
Microneedling is used to treat various skin concerns, including acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, uneven skin texture, stretch marks, and pigmentation issues. It can also improve overall skin tone and elasticity.
At Everskin Laser Salon, we offer microneedling treatments for different skin concerns such as acne and acne scars, wrinkles, stretch marks, body scars, dull and dehydrated skin.
Prices start at $250.

The level of discomfort during microneedling can vary depending on individual pain tolerance and the depth of the needles used. However, many people describe the sensation as tolerable and liken it to a mild prickling or scratching feeling. Topical numbing cream is applied before the procedure to minimize discomfort.
The number of microneedling sessions required depends on the individual's skin concerns, desired outcomes, and the severity of the condition being treated. Typically, a series of 3 to 6 treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart is recommended for optimal results.
Pre-care instructions:
- Stop using Accutane at least 6 months before any cosmetic procedures
- Do not use retinoids, AHAs, BHA, topical antibiotics or other active ingredients for 5-7 days before treatment
- Avoid Laser or IPL procedures, chemical peels, microdermabrasion and tanning for at least 4 weeks before microneedling
- Do not shave the area on the day of treatment
Post-care instructions:
- Avoid touching your face and using any cosmetic products for 24 hours to minimize the risk of infection.
- Hyaluronic acid serum is acceptable to use after 24 hours to promote hydration.
- Skip the ice: Applying ice may irritate your skin.
- Gently cleanse your face with lukewarm water only.
- Pat the area dry with a clean towel or paper towel. Avoid rubbing.
- Sun protection is crucial! Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily and avoid direct sunlight until your skin heals completely.
Microneedling is a procedure that can be performed only by a trained esthetician, nurse or doctor. Why?
Performing microneedling at home without proper training, sterilization, and expertise can lead to several risks and complications, including:
- Not authorized microneedling device: in Canada, only three microneedling devices are approved by Health Canada and can be used for professional use. There are no microneedling devices for at-home use.
At Everskin Laser Salon, we prioritize your safety and results. That's why we use the Health Canada-approved InnoPen microneedling device.
- Infection: Improper sterilization of needles or the skin can introduce bacteria into the micro-injuries, leading to infections.
Scarring: Incorrect technique or excessive pressure during microneedling can cause trauma to the skin, resulting in scarring or uneven texture.
Skin Damage: Without proper knowledge of skin anatomy and individual skin characteristics, there's a risk of causing damage, including bruising, tearing, or puncturing the skin.
Product Reactions: Applying skincare products immediately after microneedling without professional guidance can cause irritation, allergic reactions, or increased sensitivity.
Lack of Expertise: A trained and experienced practitioner can assess your skin condition, recommend appropriate treatment parameters, and adjust the procedure as needed to ensure safety and effectiveness.

The number of IPL treatments needed varies depending on the severity of the skin issues and the desired outcomes. To achieve optimal results for skin rejuvenation, pigmentation, and vascular concerns, clients typically require 3-6 IPL treatment sessions.
